And now, on to the photographs.
This was a really good show. There were lots of excellent pieces to look at.
Scroll down to see some photos of the exhibit.
On the side, we had the Small Treasures Sale again. All of the works in the Small Treasures Sale are marked at $100 or less. There were lots of bargains.
Toward the end of the evening, RAA President Rick Corbett presented the awards to the winners. Click on any of the images to see a larger version of the image.
Since Rick won first prize in Mixed Media, our Vice President Rosemary Palmer stepped in to hand Rick his award.
We even had some nice floral displays to set things off.
Here are the bios of the judges
Arnie Casavent attended the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, was an art instructor and Art Department Chairperson at Oliver Ames High School in Easton, Massachusetts for 27 years.
He has taught landscape and abstract painting at various locations in Boston and on Cape Cod through Northeastern University's Graduate Institute in Education. He has exhibited his work at myriad locations. Arnie prefers to work en plein air, printing largely in oil on location at dawn or dusk, when the sun's interaction with his subject matter is at its most dramatic. Arnie adheres to the old adage that "light is the bringer of beauty", and his work reflects a strong emphasis on the interplay of light, shape, and color, and a devotion to impressionism.
