Annual Dinner 2007

The annual dinner meeting this year was Wednesday, June 6th, 2007.

We have some photographs of the event in case you could not make it there in person. You can click on any of the images on this page to view a larger version of it. Then, use the Back button on your browser to return to this page.

Crowd The annual dinner and meeting was held at the Hillview in North Reading again this year. We have been holding the meeting there now for several years. A small, but fun-loving group of members attended, as you can see in the accompanying photographs.

The view from the dining room is spectacular, entertaining us with sunsets that belong in a painting. We enjoyed good food, good friends and good conversations throughout the evening.
This meeting is the last official event of the season for Reading Art Association. It serves as a business meeting as well as a dinner, and we assemble to elect the officers for our next season, which begins in the Autumn of 2007.

Tom has been elected to be our President for next year, and Arthur has agreed to be Vice President again. They both did an outstanding job this past season, as did all the other members of the board and the chairs of the events.

We are still looking for a Corresponding Secretary and a Recording Secretary to take the minutes of our board meetings. If you would like to volunteer for either of the these positions, send us an email and we will be in touch.

We had an especially good year this past season with many informative demonstrators. You can see photographs and descriptions of our activities on other pages of this web site.

Links to the other events for this season can be found here and links to previous seasons can be found in our archives. We are looking forward to next year being as informative and fun as this year was.

It is easy to become a member of RAA. You do not have to be a resident of Reading to join, in fact many of our members reside in other towns and cities. Visit our membership page where you can find an application to join. Then, come on down and join in the fun.

Jack Welch, an avid car collector, car restorer, and automotive enthusiast, presented a program entitled, "A Photographic Presentation on the Automobile as an Art Object and as an Art Subject." The photographs showed the artistic value of cars through the years.

He showed us many photos of what he called, "Rolling Sculpture", and indeed it was.
