What fields are required in the form?
You must enter information in the Name, Subject and Message areas of the form. If any of those fields is blank, an error page will be posted where you can correct the problem and repost the message.
A thread is similar to a conversation. When you respond to a message on the message board, you are adding to the thread in which the message resides.
To start a new thread, post a new message from the main message board.
To add to an existing thread, click on the message link and then respond to the message that is displayed by filling out the Followup form at the bottom of the message page.
The threads on the page are shown by indenting the responses to a message and placing them just under the message that was responded to.
How do I find a message in all of this?
The messages are sorted by date of the first message in a thread, with the most recent message at the top.
Beneath the originating message you will find, indented to the right, the followup messages in the thread. Simply click on the underlined links to view any of the messages.
Within each message, links to each of the followup messages are displayed as well.
How do I put a URL into my message?
You can insert a link to a URL into your message by typing it into the Optional URL field in the form.
The URL must begin with the http protocol, "http://" or it will not appear in the message.
You must also fill in the Link Text field with the text that you want to use for selecting the link. If you do not fill in the text field, the link will not appear in your message. The text you type into this field will be the text that you click on to follow the link.
How can I add an image into my message?
You can insert an image into your message by typing the URL of the image into the Optional Image URL field in the form.
The URL must begin with the http protocol, "http://" or it will not appear in the message.
Why didn't my link appear in my message?
You must fill in both the URL field and the Link Text field or the link will not appear in your message.
Also, the URL must begin with the http protocol, "http://" or it will not appear in the message.
Why didn't my image appear in my message?
The URL must begin with the http protocol, "http://" or it will not appear in the message.
If you see a little square with an X in it, that means that the browser could not find the image you specified.
Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message.
I have the enabled option of allowing the use of HTML in the Message part of your posting. If you put HTML tags in your message, your html markup will appear in the posting. If you do not know what HTML is or how to use it, just ignore this feature.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a
followup?
Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.
If you do not want the quote to appear in your message, simply highlight the text with your mouse and type the delete key.
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page after your message was posted. Browsers save the pages that you have visited on your local disk and then redisplay them from the disk when you go back to them. This provides a faster response time since the browser does not have to download the page from the web. However, if the page has changed out on the server, you will not see the changes when you go back to the page.
Just refresh the page in your browser and it should then appear. If that does not work, restart your browser and return to the page.
