The stage setting was excellent as usual.
The small treasures sale was very busy.
We had a good turnout.
People seemed pleased with the art.
There was lots to see.
The first place winners posed for a group photo.
Our refreshments committee provided a host of delicious
goodies, which was the best food to be found for miles.
The music was provided by Lucinda, who
played a variety of tunes on the piano.
Here are the bios of the judges
Julliette Carignan recieved her BFA from the University of Massachusetts in 1980. In 1997, her work was selected by the Whistler House Museum of Art in Lowell for inclusion in the "Ten Women" exhibition of New England painters, and for the Harness Tracks of America prestigious national equine art exhibition in Lexington, Kentucky. She was also invited to participate in the first Small Format Salon in Paris France, and in Belmont's new Gallery of Art's Inaugural juried exhibition in 2005. Her realistic, painterly landscapes and portraits can be found in collections nationally and internationally.
Tom Ouellette, a contemporary realist, was a National Merit Scholar, and received his undergraduate education at Harvard (B.A. in art history). Subsequently, he studied at the Art Institute of Boston, from which he graduated with honors; and then from 1989 - 1994 worked with Michael Aviano, serving as the latter's assistant for much of that time. During this time he had scholarship grants from La Napoule Foundation, La Napoule, France, and from the John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Scholarship Fund. He has won Yankee Magazine's prestigious Robb Sagendorf Memorial Award, and has been featured in articles in Arts Media, the Boston Sunday Globe and the The Artists' Magazine. Primarily an oil painter, he has exhibited in galleries in New York, New England, and Tokyo, Japan.
