Spring Show 2012

The Spring show was a spectacular success this year. We had some special offerings and a great turnout of art lovers. The theme of the show was "Art and Bloom". We collaborated with the Garden Club to put together a combination of paintings and flower arrangements that echoed the shapes and colors of the paintings.

The stage was set up with the paintings and the floral arrangements.

The similarity between the paintings and the arrangements is amazing.

Here are the bios of the judges

Joan Rademacher

Joan is an award-winning watercolor painter whose passion is the transparency and fluid quality of watercolor. Upon graduation from the School of Practical Art ( now The Art Institute of Boston ) she worked in commercial art as a fashion illustrator and graphics designer. Now her focus is primarily on fine art which together with studio work and plein air painting has taken her from new England to the western states. A member of the New England Watercolor Society and the North Shore Arts Association, Joan's work may be found in many corporate collections throughout New England as well as in private collections here and abroad.

Jeanne Rosier Smith

Jeanne is an award-winning pastel painter who is known for her active, dramatic wave paintings, her opulent still lifes, and her expressive portraits. She studied art at Georgetown University and at the New Jersey Center for Visual Art and the DuCret School of Art in New Jersey. She is an artist member of the Copley Society, and a signature member of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod and the Connecticut Pastel Society and has exhibited at the Massachusetts State House, the Boston Artists Guild, and nationally at the Pastel Society of America, the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Arts Club and American Artist Professional League shows, among others.
